From the recording Awaken the Sleepers (Electric Works)
Tom and guitarist Stan Samole composed this while playing together in a fusion band in 1970s Knoxville, Tennessee. A "head" is musician terminology for a return to the beginning melody section. This is done by pointing to one's "head." There are no improvisations (solos) in this recording, therefore, it's just a "head." Tom "orchestrated" this version of a Samole arrangement. He also transcribed Rusty Hollloway's bass part as it was outstanding! Personnel: Tom (digital wind controller with OBX, trumpet); Buck Powell (tenor and baritone saxophones); Dan Peterson (electric guitar); Joe Vick (double bass); Steve Chapman (drum set, drum programming); Dave Rogers (percussion). Recorded at Trimble Production Studios by Grady Trimble, Keith Lynch, and Dave Rogers, 1986-92. Remastered by Keith Lynch at Family Life Studios, Little Rock, 2005.
