From the recording Whose Streams Make Glad (Acoustic Jazz Works)
Arthur Lee Porter (Art) was a kind of patriarch of musicians in Little Rock when I arrived to begin a teaching career in 1982. He graciously welcomed me into his circle of musicians. He was an old school musician, meaning he practiced the decorum and manners of a long-gone era. He embraced me for who I was, not for what I could do for him.
Personnel: Tom Richeson (composer, arranger, trumpet), Buck Powell (piano), Steve Hudelson (guitar), Rob Sveum (bass), Anthony Thompson (drum set). Recorded on a faculty recital by Warren Law (1993).
