This was an interesting project. Tom used to play flutes in rock bands, then in a Salsa and Brazilian jazz band, and finally in church worship bands. Tom and recording engineer Keith Lynch recorded a full rhythm section recording medley featuring bass, alto and soprano flutes. But for this project they took the flute parts for part of that medley and emailed them to friend and Bluegrass musician Bill Nesbitt, who re-created the band, playing guitar, mandolin, and bass parts for this version. It's backwards from the way this sort of thing is usually done! The medley with singer and full rhythm section will be on the next album. :-)
